Regards from Dot and Mike Kycia sent to Connie Abbott who would like to share the news with our neighbors at Meadow Hill.
Happy New Year, Connie. As this busy, but glorious season comes to a close, I have to let you know that one Caroler, singing from his scrolled sheet of music made a huge difference in our appreciation of all that is Christmas! Mike and I thought of you with thanks as he has decorated our little living room here in New Mexico. Being surrounded by sand and rock, with no live green anything we especially appreciated being reminded of what we think of as the “normal” look of this time of year. The little man in the red suit did that! The climate ia accomplishing for us what we had hoped. While this area has had record breaking snow falls- all of 5 inches in 2 storms- we have been able to enjoy 60 – 65 temperatures most days. Sunshine heats up our world early in the am after nights just below freezing. The air is dry and clean. This little city it bustling and offers a huge assortment of things for us to do. We have found a bridge group with some beginners, so great for Mike. The library, while the building is not quite as attractive, is as adequate as Welles Turner and it offers lot of cultural programs. I have an opportunity to help a woman there who wants to update her computer skills. We also may have an opportunity to tutor ESOL, as we have done at home for so many years. Have a good winter and we’ll see you in April.
