Our finances continue to be strong. Through May we are approximately $8,000 under our YTD operating budget, primarily because of savings in our utility costs and mulch expense. However, we will be incurring some larger-than-budgeted costs in July for tree removals because of an arborist report citing some “dangerous” trees on our property. As a result, I estimate we will be flat relative to our operating budget at the end of July. And that’s very positive.
Our cash flow remains strong and we have been making regular monthly deposits to our reserves, which now total $378,000.
The board is looking for a volunteer to be a “paving czar” – someone to work with us and hopefully take point on our initial planning efforts relative to paving our roads. If possible, I would like to better understand by year-end some of the various technologies, options, timetables and costs facing us. While I suspect paving will not be a 2011 priority, the data can be used to update our long-term capital plan. Please let me or any board member know if you are interested!
