New Use for the Hollister House, to Benefit Owners

Starting February 1st we are leasing a portion of the 2nd floor to the Community Association Institute, Connecticut (CAI-CT). The leasing fees will provide revenue which will help keep down future monthly assessments.

For several years, Executive Boards have pursued a means of increasing the use of the underused Hollister House to the benefit of Meadow Hill owners. Starting February 1st we are leasing a portion of the 2nd floor to the Community Association Institute, Connecticut (CAI-CT). The leasing fees will provide revenue which will help keep down future monthly assessments.

CAI-CT is an ideal tenant, with two part-time employees, infrequent visitors, and hosting less than a handful of small committee meetings a month. There should be no change, or disruption of any current or anticipated Hollister House activities. Parking usage is limited to the lower lot, and will occur during the day. A new mailbox and a very small sign near the mailbox will be the only visible external change.

CAI-CT is already a significant partner to Meadow Hill – we have been a member for several years. Through their publications, resources, and education, we have improved the Meadow Hill experience and saved money. CAI-CT works with similar associations across the state to educate board members, owners, public officials, and service providers in working together to create smooth functioning communities that benefit everyone. Kim McClain, a Glastonbury resident, is the Executive Director. (See CAICT.org on the web)
